Michael’s Journey with KEF

Michael, a Form 2 student from Nairobi, describes his neighborhood as peaceful and affordable—a small comfort in a life that was once filled with hardship. Before joining KEF, Michael was constantly worried. “Life was so hard. I was struggling a lot,” he shares.

Like many students in vulnerable communities, school was a dream that felt uncertain with each passing term.

But everything changed when he got the call from KEF.
“I was overwhelmed,” he recalls. “My fee being paid on time is a huge relief.”

Today, Michael enjoys the simple things—like githeri, playing football, and caring for cows—but his dreams are far from simple. He wants to become an IT engineer because he loves technology and believes in the power of innovation.

Thanks to KEF, Michael has the stability and support to pursue his goals. “It’s an amazing program for students from poor backgrounds,” he says with pride.
