Ken Okoth's Legacy Lives On

On July 26th, 2019, KEF lost a family member when Hon. Ken Okoth lost his battle with cancer. Ken exemplified the impact of education on one's life.

Twenty-seven years ago, a woman in Denmark made a donation to the charity, Save the Children. From that contribution, Ken received a high school education at Starehe Boys' boarding school in Nairobi, Kenya.

It is impossible to calculate the return on that single donation in terms of human capital or even compound interest.
In 2006, Ken founded Children of Kibera Foundation (CoKF), which merged with KEF when he was elected to Parliament in 2013. Ken changed so many lives and the future of countless Kenyans, through which his legacy lives on.

To honor Ken's memory, KEF has created the Ken Okoth Memorial Kibera Scholarship Fund. All money donated to this fund will provide high school education to young people from Ken’s constituency, Kibera.

At age 41, Ken was taken from us too soon. He is survived by his wife, Monica, to whom our heartfelt sympathies go out to during this difficult time.

Ken was a national treasure whose legacy lives on in the hundreds of girls and boys from Kibera that he kept in school.

Please help us honor Ken's memory with a gift of any amount that will support deserving students in Kibera.
